Liplisbüel Alpine Cheese Dairy and Restaurant
Located at the foot of the Kinzig Pass at an elevation of 1,235 meters, the Lipplisbüel Alpine Cheese Dairy—which includes an alpine restaurant—is just 200 meters from the border with the canton of Uri. It offers down-to-earth cuisine featuring specialties from its own cheese dairy.
Various hiking and biking trails pass by the cozy alpine restaurant run by the Betschart family, a typical Muotathal farming and alpine herding family. Whether it’s a cozy dessert during an outing, a hearty mid-morning snack while hiking, or house specialties at a birthday party or company outing—the Lipplisbüel Alpine Restaurant welcomes individuals, families, and groups. In case of bad weather, group events are held in the well-maintained hayloft.
The alp is home to cows, cattle, goats, pigs, and a shop that sells its own products.
