1. How do I get to the Stoos?

3. How do i get to the Fronalpstock?
From the mountain station of the funicular Schwyz-Stoos, you walk about 10 minutes on a flat path to the valley station of the chairlifts Fronalpstock. From there you can reach the Fronalpstock summit by two chairlifts (2 sections), this takes about 20 minutes.

4. Which lakes can I see from the Fronalpstock?
Lake lucerne, Seelisbergersee, Ägerisee, Zugersee, Zürichsee, Sempachersee, Hallwilersee, Baldeggersee, Greifensee, Pfäffikersee und der Sihlsee (when it has clear view)

5. Is there a possibility to learn cross-country skiing in the Stoos-Muota Valley region?
Yes, cross-country skiing courses can be booked through the snow sports school Stoos. More here

6. Can I play golf in the region Stoos-Muotatal?
Yes, in Morschach there is the golf course Axenstein. Here to the information.

7. Is the toboggan run on Fronalpstock suitable for children?
The fast toboggan run on Fronalpstock is not suitable for small children. For them, hills around the village of Stoos are more suitable.

8. What can I do with children in the region during bad weather?
Bath fun in the Swiss Holiday Park, visit husky enclosure, erlebniswelt muotathal, indoor activities in the Swiss Holiday Park

9. Are there wellness options?

10. Is the funicular included in the ski ticket / day pass?
Yes, in the ski pass and day ticket summer (peak experience ticket) all facilities on Stoos are included.

11. Which facilities are open today?
Here you will find an overview of the open railroads, facilities in the region.

12. When is the ridge hiking trail open?
The ridge hiking trail is only open during the summer season. In winter it is snow-covered and therefore not accessible. It will be open at the end of May. Information about the opening will be published under the latest information.

13. How do I get to the Pragelpass by public transport?
By train to Schwyz, train station and from there by bus no. 501 to Muotathal, Weid. From there walk along the road to the Pragel garage. The Pragel cab will take you to the Pragelpass. ATTENTION: There are additional costs for the cab. No public transport goes to the Pragelpass. Please call the Pragel-Taxi in advance – Here to the phone number & information.

14. Are there 2-day hikes in the region Stoos-Muotal?
For a 2-day tour, the tours Mit Ausdauer zur Chinzig Chulm or 2 Tages Tour Chaiserstock would be suitable.

15. Where can I camp in the region?
Camping sites are available at Ferienhof Rüti in Morschach and at erlebniswelt Muotathal. There is also a Nomady offer in Muotathal.

16. How do I get to Glattalp?
By car: Drive in the direction of Schwyz – Muotathal – Bisisthal to the valley station of the cable car Glattalp in Sahli. From there, take the cable car up to Glattalp.
By public transport: From Schwyz, train station with bus no. 501 to Muotathal, Post. From there continue with bus no. 506 to Bisisthal, Sahli cable car station.

17. Where and when can I go skiing?
The ski season on Stoos lasts from mid-December (depending on the snow) until the end of March/beginning of April – Read more here. In Illgau you can ski from the middle/end of December (depending on the snow) until the end of February. More about this

18. How does the 4-hour card work?
If you buy a 4-hour ticket, you can use all facilities on Stoos for 4 hours from the 1st turnstile passage. After these 4 hours you can go down (also at a later time – until 12 pm) with the funicular to Schwyz or the cable car to Morschach.

19. Are there stroller-friendly trails in the region?
The following trails can be walked with a stroller. Muotathaler Witzwanderweg, Wetterfrosch-Wanderweg, Urwaldspur Bödmeren, Moorerlebnisweg, Panoramaweg Fronalpstock (only with off-road stroller), Panoramaweg Morschach, Wundernasenweg, Chäferliweg Illgau
